"'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams." Acts 2:17
Sabina almost seemed as if she were confessing some deep, dark secret. She looked down at her hands as she continued: "Jesus never appeared to me in a dream. I really doubted my salvation because of it. Everyone else was having dreams of the man in white, why not me?"
I was in a closed Muslim country, and several believers had recounted to me having a man in all white, whose face was obscured by light who had appeared to them in their dream. Some were immediately aware that it was Jesus. For most, the dream was a mystery. Only later did they "happen" to encounter someone - perhaps a foreign missionary or a local evangelist, who helped them understand that the King of Kings had appeared to them in their dreams...that He was calling them. For most, it was a significant part of their story and a key detail in their testimony.

It turns out that it is such a common experience among Muslim-background believers in certain countries that it seems strange to many of them to not have had the dream! The woman that I was interviewing actually struggled with issues of legitimacy and doubted her own salvation because she had not had the same dream that many of her fellow believers had reported. These dreams are evidence that the Lord is moving in the Muslim world!
As I write this, we are coming into the final week of Ramadan, a month-long period of fasting and prayer for Muslims. As Muslims in our own communities are fasting and seeking God during this time, we are praying that the Holy Spirit will send them dreams of the man in white...dreams of Jesus. We are praying that the Lord will send people into their paths who will confirm and explain the dream, that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is calling them. We are praying that the message will be accompanied by selfless acts of love that communicate and confirm the Gospel.
Our king is also the good Shepherd, who will leave the 99 to go after his lost sheep. We are praying that He sends His Spirit to pave the way for a mighty end-times harvest.
Will you pray with us?
