"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" Psalm 46:10
Stillness can be hard for me. A restless spirit and an active mind don't exactly go hand in hand with stillness. Sometimes I think that my efforts for the Lord may actually be getting in His way! As I spent time with the Lord this morning and meditated on this verse, I was once again reminded that He is God.
He allows us, His children, the remarkable privilege of collaborating with Him. I am reminded of when my son was very young, and I would allow him to "help" me on a project. In the same way, our heavenly Father allows us a role in building His Kingdom. We must remember however that while He gives us a role, the outcome is up to Him.
Every knee will bow, and every tongue confess that our King Jesus truly is King of kings and Lord of lords. He will be exalted among all nations, all peoples. The victory is won and His kingdom eternal. This does not depend on our efforts or our success. What does depend on us is to take advantage of the opportunities we are given. We must share the love of Christ, with our words and with our actions.
It is the beginning of Ramadan, a time when many Muslims fast and seek God. Remember to pray for Muslims as they fast and pray during this time of Ramadan. Pray that the Holy Spirit will reveal Jesus to them in their dreams. Pray that God will put people in their path to demonstrate the love of Christ and to share the Gospel with them. Pray that they will turn from their dead tradition and turn to the living God.
Finally, pray that God will use you to reach those around you. Sow seeds of His love, water the seeds that others have planted, and trust Him to make them grow.
